Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question? You're not alone. Here are answers to some of the questions families ask most before getting started.
Getting Started
How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?
If you're wondering whether your child's communication is developing as expected, it's always okay to ask questions. A screening or evaluation can help determine whether support may be beneficial and provide peace of mind.
What ages do you work with?
Flourish provides speech and language services for children from birth through school age, with a special focus on early intervention and the preschool years.
How do we get started?
Simply complete the contact form, and Flourish will reach out to learn more about your child, answer your questions, and schedule a free 15-minute virtual consultation. Together, we'll decide whether moving forward with an evaluation feels like the right fit.
Therapy
Where do sessions take place?
Flourish offers therapy in your home, in community settings, and through teletherapy, allowing your child to learn where communication naturally happens.
What happens during a therapy session?
Every session is individualized and play-based, using activities your child enjoys to encourage meaningful communication. Therapy is engaging, interactive, and designed around your child's goals.
Can I stay during sessions?
Absolutely. Parent involvement is encouraged because some of the most meaningful progress happens when communication strategies continue beyond our sessions.
Private Pay
Do you accept insurance?
Flourish is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows therapy recommendations to be based on your child's needs rather than insurance limitations.
What is a superbill?
Flourish provides superbills, which are detailed receipts you can submit to your insurance company to request possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly.
Why don't you accept insurance?
Private-pay care allows for greater flexibility, individualized treatment, and more time focused on your child, not insurance requirements. Our goal is to provide thoughtful, personalized care that's guided by your family's needs.
